Join us for an open conversation in response to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s 2018 Report on Sexual Harassment of Women: Climate, Culture,and Consequences in Academic Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. We will address both issues and remedies relating to harassment, bullying, micro-aggression, gender identity, and discrimination.

Discussants include Dr. Frazier Benya (National Academy of Sciences), Dr. Sarah Hobbie (Ecology, Evolution, and Behavior, UMN), and Dr. Erin Carlson (Chemistry, UMN). Opening remarks by Executive Vice President and Provost Karen Hanson, reception to follow.

• What are the best strategies for empowering women?
• Do we have have spaces for discussing behaviors, activities, and policies that inhibit career success?
• What is the responsibility of men and those in authority?
• What vision do we have for an equitable culture?
