What is public scholarship? Why is it important, and what does it do? How do I write about my work for nonspecialists?
As a practice of sharing work with a broad audience, public scholarship makes our work both accessible and engaging to people beyond our disciplines and beyond academia. Join the editor and staff of Open Rivers: Rethinking Water, Place & Community for a virtual workshop to help you practice the art of writing public scholarship. In addition to sharing strategies for writing public scholarship, we will offer time for attendees to apply these skills to their own work. This session is intended primarily for graduate students interested in expanding their practical skills for engaging the public and communicating with broad audiences, but is open to faculty and staff as well.
