The Institute for Advanced Study Collaborative: Collecting Oral Histories of West Central Minnesota will gather for the final event of its first cycle on Tuesday, October 24 at 2:30–4:15 PM on the lower level of Briggs Library. Refreshments will be served. (Alternatively, you may attend via Zoom.)
This special event is an opportunity to learn about and discuss oral history pedagogical methods, from one-time community workshops to a full undergraduate curriculum. Our visiting expert, Lu Ann Jones, is a staff historian with the National Park Service. She specializes in oral history research methods and the history of women, labor, agriculture, and the American South, and has extensive experience teaching interviewers and considering the challenges of oral history training.
All are welcome, including faculty, staff, students, and community members not affiliated with the university.
This activity is supported by an Institute for Advanced Study Research and Creative Collaborative Grant.
