Featuring Dr. Deborah Lupton
SHARP Professor, Leader, the Vitalities Lab
Centre for Social Research in Health and Social Policy Research Centre
UNSW Sydney
Dr. Deborah Lupton will draw on more-than-human theoretical perspectives to explore the human-COVID-digital assemblage. She will discuss the manifold ways that people have invented, taken up or improvised with digital technologies in response to the threat of COVID-19 and the restrictions on physical movement and in-person social encounters introduced to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Drawing on on her COVID-related research projects to provide examples of the human-COVID-digital assemblage in everyday life, she will consider the question, “Where to now for critical data studies in this pandemic age?”
Co-presented by DASH as part of the Human in the Data Series.
