The Institute for Advanced Study is delighted to announce our Residential Faculty Fellows for 2024–2025. Together with our Interdisciplinary Doctoral Fellows and other scholars in residence, they constitute a supportive interdisciplinary intellectual community in which they work intensively on their own research and creative projects and gather regularly to collaborate, discuss their work, and exchange ideas.
The (In)Justice Series from the University of Minnesota’s Institute for Advanced Study brings together scholars, artists, activists, and community leaders to discuss different visions for what justice might look like. In Spring 2024, our events investigate and celebrate how different communities use joy as resistance.
The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Sawyer Seminar on “Just Policing: Transnational Perspectives on the Definition and Possibility of Justice in Law Enforcement,” housed at the IAS invites applications for two graduate fellows during the 2024-25 Academic Year.
Open Rivers: Rethinking Water, Place & Community is currently inviting proposals for our 2025 issue on Rights, Conflict, and Water. We invite proposals from scholars, activists, artists, professionals, policymakers, community members, scientists, and practitioners (including faculty, staff, and students) who offer insight on rights, conflicts, and water broadly conceived.
