IAS Short-Term Fellow; Water, Equity, and Justice

My name is Jabari Jones and I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. I’m broadly interested in the way that rivers change over time, as a result of climatic and human-induced changes to the landscape and water cycle. During the Water, Equity, and Justice Fellowship, I’m working on a project investigating the intersection of environmental justice and stream restoration. We are trying to understand if and how EJ is included in stream restoration, and how that influences the project outcomes. I’m excited about this fellowship opportunity as I hope to learn more about the methods and ideas used outside of my discipline and to learn the ways that people frame issues of equity and justice outside of the physical sciences.
