Rebekah Garrison is a doctoral candidate in American Studies & Ethnicity at the University of Southern California (USC). Her areas of specialization include Caribbean and Pacific Island Studies, Critical Ethnic Studies, Decolonial Theory and Geography, and Indigenous Studies. She is the author of “Settler Responsibility: Respatializing Dissent in ‘America’ Beyond Continental Borders” in Shima: The International Journal Into Island Cultures (October 2019) and Settler Responsibility: Archipelagic Imperialism and the Burdens of U.S. History forthcoming (2021) from Routledge Press. She is also a founding member of the Indigeneity and Decolonization Research Cluster at USC.
