Public comments will close on Friday, March 29th. If you would like to share your ideas with us without commenting publicly, please email them to [email protected].

About the discussion

This page is for online conversation related to our in-person conversation on University Governance. All information, suggestions, ideas, and data collected during the course of this series will be summarized and anonymized before being presented to President-designate Gabel. If you would like to contribute your thoughts without publicly posting them in this forum, please feel free to send an email to [email protected] or IAS Director Jennifer Gunn ([email protected]).

Questions from the discussion:

  1. How do we use our values to guide processes of shared governance?
  2. What do "consult" and "shared" mean in the governance process and how do we insure that consultation includes a wide range of opinions and interests—voices who don’t always agree?
  3. How do we enhance democratic processes and cultivate broad participation and leadership in shared governance to make it best represent the needs of our diverse constituencies?
