DISCUSSION QUESTIONS

  1. How are our values of equity, access, and diversity reflected in our budget priorities? And what does the budgetary decision-making process say about our system of accountability and governance?
  2. How does our budget become a tool for resource allocation both within the university and college system, and in terms of the larger distribution of resources and wealth in the state? What are the impacts of this on student debt and our educational mission?
  3. How do finances influence our ability to respond to changes in knowledge production, e.g., towards greater interdisciplinarity and ethical, reciprocally engaged partnerships?
