IAS Top corners

As a University-wide interdisciplinary center, the Institute for Advanced Study is a resource for scholars, artists, professionals, and students who are engaged in a wide variety of study and practice. It also serves as a bridge between the University and the wider community as a place where people meet and ideas are exchanged. The IAS provides funding support for faculty research, interdisciplinary collaborative research, and public programming, as well as a range of other support for faculty, staff, students, the general public, and our community partners.

Our offices are located on the 2nd floor of Northrop on the East Bank of the UMN-TC campus. We are open M-F, 9-5pm; we are closed on University holidays. To contact us about events, programming, or finding ways to participate through attendance, class involvement, potential partnerships, and more, please send us an email at ias@umn.edu, or call our office at 612-626-5054.

We encourage you to browse through our many opportunities for University faculty, staff, and students, our public events calendar, and our ever-expanding library of past presentations.

You can also find us on Twitter and Facebook, and if you'd like to sign up for our weekly (during the academic year) newsletter with news, events, and opportunities galore, please email us with the subject line "subscribe to newsletter."
