"Three Decades of Financial Dominance and Crisis in the United States: A Talk on the Rise, Social Consequences, and Fall of Wall Street Investment Banks": A presentation by Karen Ho
To give context to the finance-led current crisis, Professor Ho will focus in particular on the takeover movement of 1980s as a key event that consolidated Wall Street's financial influence in the American economy. Karen Ho is an assistant professor of Anthropology at the University of Minnesota. Her most recent work is Liquidated: An Ethnography of Wall Street (forthcoming, Duke University Press).
