"Blackface: Then and Now": a presentation by Greil Marcus

This fall, Greil Marcus holds the Winton Chair in the College of Liberal Arts and is teaching a short course in Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature, "The Old Weird America" (CSCL 4910/ENGL 4090) October 1 - November 19. Greil Marcus is the author of The Shape of Things to Come (2006), Lipstick Traces (1989), Mystery Train (1975; 5th revised edition 2008), and other books. With Werner Sollors, he is the co-editor of A New Literary History of America, forthcoming from Harvard in 2009. In recent years he has taught at Berkeley, Princeton, and the New School in New York. He lives in Berkeley. Cosponsored by the Department of Cultural Studies and Comparative Literature and the College of Liberal Arts.
