Ways of Knowing and Acting:
Reconnecting to Mother Earth Symposium

Saturday, April 8, 2017, 9:30am-12:30pm
Crosby Seminar Room, 240 Northrop

Free and open to the public, but please register here

Come to the Reconnecting to Mother Earth Symposium and join a circle of community members, artists, ecologists, educators and students gathering to discuss how to orient ourselves in our world in the past, present, and future. We will bring together many perspectives to examine and speculate on how the intersection of diverse ways of knowing (traditional ecological knowledges, arts, sciences, humanities, community experiences, etc.) can help us to transform and heal in response to and with climate change.

The Symposium is being held in conjunction with the new Roots to Healing exhibition, showing how our stories are inextricably linked to plants from around the globe that have taken root in Minnesota. The exhibition is up at the Northrop 4th Floor Gallery, just outside the Best Buy Theater, and is organized by College of Biological Sciences Conservatory.

Presented by the IAS Backyard Phenology Collaborative with support from partners including Institute on the Environment (IonE), NorthernLightsMN – host of Northern Spark 2017, and Milkweed Press.
