oliverosComposer, humanitarian, performer, and one of modern music’s most important figures, Pauline Oliveros has influenced contemporary American music profoundly through her work with improvisation, meditation, electronic music, myth, ritual, and the founding of “Deep Listening”. In this Winton Cornerstone Event, Oliveros will lead Deep Listening workshops leading up to a participatory concert. Student-led creative groups exploring and engaging in improvisation, meditation, interdisciplinary collaborations, and healing will convene in preparation for Oliveros’s campus visit.

Organized by the IAS Improvising Ecosystems Collaborative. Cosponsored by the Winton Chair in the Liberal Arts.
