Catherine Meier, Visual Artist, April 2, 2014
Catherine Meier received the national Jacob K. Javits fellowship for graduate study and attended the University of Michigan where she received her Master of Fine Arts. She was awarded a Rackham research grant to travel to Mongolia, a country with a landscape very similar to the Great Plains. Catherine’s understanding of the ways in which we navigate open spaces and landscapes is realized through large-scale prints, drawings, and animations. She currently finds herself at home in Duluth, Minnesota, with the open water of Lake Superior in view.
