May 16, 23, and 30, 2013: Talk Back – Open dialogues on the new MMAA

The Minnesota Museum of American Art is hosting a series of community dialogues on the reestablishment of the new MMAA in St. Paul. Please join us for conversation and refreshments at these free public gatherings in May. We will be joined by national leaders in museum development and community engagement.

All conversations will take place at the MMAA Project Space in the Pioneer Press Building, corner of 4th and Robert Streets, in downtown St. Paul.

Thursday, May 16, 4-6 p.m. Participation
Join renowned museum innovator Nina Simon, author of The Participatory Museum and director of the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, as we explore how the MMAA can engage you in activities, ideas, and programs for a new museum experience.

Thursday, May 23, 4-6 p.m. Design
VJAA Architects principals Vince James and Jennifer Yoos lead a conversation about how architectural design ideas can impact the new MMAA and your experience of the Pioneer Endicott buildings and the spaces and galleries that will engage you and your family.

Thursday, May 30, 4-6 p.m. Openness
Discussion of openness and diversity in community cultural offerings. Come explore the topic of what makes you feel welcome in the museum and share these ideas with other community-caring individuals.
