Lisa Pon is a Professor of Art History at Meadows School of the Arts at Southern Methodist University. She has won fellowships from institutions including the Warburg Institute in London, the Getty Research Institute, the American Philosophical Society, and the Center for Advanced Studies in the Visual Arts (National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C.), and published in leading journals including Art HistoryWord & ImageArt Bulletin, and Print Quarterly. Her first book, Raphael, Dürer, and Marcantonio Raimondi: Copying and the Italian Renaissance Print, was published by Yale University Press in 2004, and a volume she co-edited, The Books of Venice/Il Libro Veneziano, published by the Biblioteca Marciana in Venice, appeared in 2008. A specialist in early sixteenth-century Italian art, her current research and teaching focuses on the technology of art, the authority of the artist, and the work of art as religious image.
