David Strom, July 16, 2012
David Strom has been a painter and sculptor since the 1970s. Based in Windom, Minnesota, he is a prolific artist, taking images from the landscape around him.
Strom’s creative exploration of subjects like grain bins and silos, wind mills, and the faces of his friends and neighbors help us to re-imagine and appreciate these familiar sights in a new way. Rich and layered color along with complex design relationships in his work recall film stills, comic book frames, or folk quilts. In 2004, he was the recipient of a Southwest Minnesota Arts and Humanities Council Individual Artist Career Grant funded by the McKnight Foundation.
