Professor John Pryor speaks on “A Medieval Maritime Revolution: the Logistics of Crusading by Sea, 1097-1204.” Professor Pryor is an Associate Professor of History at the University of Sydney where he specializes in the Crusades, Medieval economic history, and medieval and early modern maritime history. Among other works, he is the author of “‘Water, water everywhere, Nor any drop to drink’: Water supplies for the fleets of the First Crusade” (2001), Geography, technology and war: studies in the maritime history of the Mediterranean, 649-1571 (1988) and Commerce, shipping, and naval warfare in the medieval Mediterranean (1987).
