Project: “Truth-Telling, Authority, and Political Representation”
Luxon completed work on the final two chapters of a book manuscript and presented both chapters while they were in progress, one to the other fellows, the other to the TEMS collaborative. These discussions led to ongoing reading groups among the fellows; ideas from those groups influenced her written work as well as the reading list for her spring 2010 graduate seminar. Luxon also began submitting book proposals and letters of inquiry for her book manuscript and hopes to have it in press by fall 2010. She continued to develop ideas for the prospectus of a second, book-length project originally begun under the auspices of the Beyond the Eye faculty seminar. This work has generated a paper that will be presented at two upcoming conferences before being submitted as a journal article. Recognizing that the project opens up many new directions for research on the “political sensorium,” she organized a special roundtable session on this theme for the annual Political Science (APSA) meeting in August 2010, which she hopes will result in an edited volume.
