“Creating a Sustainable Public Art Practice”: Panel Discussion with Christine Baeumler, Seitu Jones, Nicholas Legeros, and Ralph Nelson, 5/27/2009

In Celebration of Public Art Review’s 20th anniversary issue, titled “Here to Stay: Public Art & Sustainability.” Christine Baeumler is a professor of Art at the University of Minnesota. She seeks to raise awareness about ecological issues, such as the extinction of species. Most recently, she is investigating the impact of global climate change on the environments of the rain forest and reef ecosystems. Seitu Jones teaches Geography at the University of Minnesota. He is an African American artist who works in ceramics, sculpture and murals, and has created several public pieces throughout the Twin Cities.

Nicholas Legeros is a bronze sculptor in the Twin Cities who creates commissioned works of art for personal clients, commercial companies, public and religious organizations. Ralph Nelson is a member of the faculty at Vesper College in Minneapolis and a professor of Architecture at the University of Minnesota.
