Rita Raley is a professor of English at the University of California, Santa Barbara. She researches and teaches in the areas of the digital humanities and twentieth-century literature in an “international” or “global” context. Raley’s most recent book, Tactical Media (University of Minnesota Press, 2009), is a study of new media art in relation to neoliberal globalization. Her other works include “Code.surface || Code.depth,” dichtung-digital (2007) and “eEmpires,” Cultural Critique (2004).

She was interviewed along with John Cayley, and the two gave a public talk, Digital Poetics, at the IAS the same day.
