Caryl Clark (Associate Professor of History and Culture in the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto) presents “Landscapes and Soundscapes: Haydn’s Haunts in Eisenstadt.” This presentation explores Haydn’s early working environments, concentrating on the composer’s connections with the Barmherzige Bruder, the religious order for whom he wrote the Missa brevis Sancti Joannis de Deo (c. 1773-78), popularly known as the Little Organ Mass.
