Project title: “Global Models, Local Organizations: Community and Non-Governmental Associations in Comparative Perspective”
Evan Schofer began writing on a book project, drafting two chapters and organizing the rest of the book. Educational Expansion and Economic Inequality: Cross-national Evidence examines the impact of educational expansion on patterns of economic inequality using cross-national data. He submitted several articles for publication, one of which, “Environmental Policy Reform in Asia: NGOs and the Nation-State,” was published in International Journal of Comparative Sociology 48 (2007):275-295. He will give a paper based on his work completed at the IAS, “Political Space and the Genesis of Politics,” at the American Sociological Association meeting in August 2007.
Professor Schofer became an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of California, Irvine in 2007.
