Project title: “Ambition, Competition, and Democratic Responsiveness: Studying Congressional Elections Across Time”
Jason Roberts completed work on an article, “Candidate Quality, the Personal Vote, and the Incumbency Advantage in Congress,” with Jamie L. Carson and Erik J. Engstrom which was subsequently published in American Political Science Review 101 (May 2007): 289-301, and made significant progress on a book manuscript, Why Not Parties? Party Effects in the U.S. Senate, written with Nathan W. Monroe and David W. Rohde and published in 2008 by the University of Chicago Press.
Professor Roberts became an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in July 2008.
