John Gery (Research Professor of English at the University of New Orleans)
Professor Gery, who is also Director of the Ezra Pound Center for Literature, Brunnenburg , Italy, is a poet and critic of modern and contemporary American poetry. During his fellowship, he completed a draft of a new collection of poems, Have at You Now! , as well as a short book, Pound’s Venice: A Walking Guide. His ongoing research involves cultural identity, parody, and American poetry at the turn of the twenty-first century. Gery and his wife, Professor Biljana Obradovic, temporary relocated to the University of Minnesota as two of the first IAS fellows after Hurricane Katrina displaced them from their home in Louisiana.
