Lecture by Professor Mae Ngai, Department of History, University of Chicago, author of “Impossible Subjects: Illegal Aliens and the Making of Modern America” (2003). Professor Ngai will discuss Japanese-American internment during the Second World War and how it does and does not resemble the detention of suspected terrorists today. Moderated by Louis Mendoza, Department of Chicano Studies, University of Minnesota.
